It's holiday eye shadow palette time, of course! What did you think I was talking about?
As the end of the year approaches and the sleigh bells start chiming incessantly, all our favorite makeup companies are bringing out the big guns, saving the best for last, waiting for the fat lady to - OK you get my point. It's pretty hard to miss all the AMAZING beauty deals going on just in time for me to give and get all the shiny things I asked Santa for. I've been good. Promise. So good in fact, that I treated myself early to the bareMinerals READY Eyeshadow 8.0 Palette in "The Playlist" - a warm collection of neutrals and golds mixed with a bold teal and shimmering burgundy. I'm in love - no mistletoe required.
I love that bareMinerals FINALLY started making pressed palettes. Their colors were phenomenal but I, like countless others, have always been hesitant to buy loose shadows. (I've bought three, spilled two - clumsy much?) Needless to say that I was ecstatic when I say the commercial for the introductory 2.0 versions. I bought three within a week: The Scenic Route, The Paradise Found and The Epiphany (my fav!) The color is long wearing, has really good payoff and each color combination compliments each other beautifully. However when I was on my way out the store, I caught a glimpse of something gold and glittery...
Top Row (l to r): Pumped, Chart Topper, Max Volume, Louder
Bottom Row (l to r): One Hit Wonder, Most Requested, Remix, Speaker Box
And it was as if the Big Guy From Up North himself had left it for me - an exquisite must have. (Thank goodness for Sephora Friends and Family!)
I've been playing with it for the last few weeks, trying different things, and I have yet to find a combination I didn't love. Below are two looks I especially liked. I also swatched it for you so be sure to take a look.
For colors, see above.
Louder, Remix, Speaker Box, and Most Requested
Chart Topper, One Hit Wonder and Max Volume
I DEFINITELY recommend the palette. It's one of the best ones I have found in a long time. I should note that there's another palette with cooler tones called "The Cocktail Hour" (sounds like a good time!) I just happen to be warm and fuzzy so this one worked out perfectly for me.
Warmly yours,
the mixx chic
